Dr. Cynthia R. Cernak

Dr. Cynthia R. Cernak has been a practicing podiatric surgeon for over 15 years. She graduated from Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, Illinois in 1989. Dr. Cernak then did a residency in podiatric medicine and surgery at North Chicago VA Hospital. Following her residency, she was a surgical attending at the same facility. Dr. Cernak attended post graduate fellowships in reconstructive surgery Doctors Hospital, Tucker, Georgia. She became board certified in podiatric surgery in 1994 recertifying in 2004. She became board certified in podiatric orthopedics in 1993 and recertified in 2003. She is a fellow of the American College of Podiatric Surgeons, and a fellow of the American College of Podiatric Orthopedics. Recently in 2004, Dr. Cernak completed fellowship training in decompressive nerve surgery at the Dellon Institute in Baltimore, Maryland. She is a founding member of the Institute of Peripheral Nerve Surgery. Dr. Cernak is a frequent lecturer complications and management of the diabetic foot, and Treatment options for peripheral neuropathy. She has served as an instructor in the family practice residency program in Racine, Wisconsin, and currently serves on the board of directors for the alumni association of Rosalind-Franklin University of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Cernak has received numerous honors and awards the area of Podiatric Surgery in her community, and is particularly proud of the leadership award she received in 2003 for her work with Woman's and Children's Horizon, a haven for victims of domestic violence in Southeastern Wisconsin. Dr. Cernak is currently involved in research for alternative treatments in diabetic peripheral neuropathy and has opened the first of its kind neuropathy clinic in Wisconsin, along with the assistance of Dr. Bryan Pereira a peripheral neurosurgeon, Dr. Debra Young a podiatric surgeon, Dr. John Martini M.D. Dr. Cernak lives in Kenosha, Wisconsin and is very proud her two daughters, Melissa, a teacher and department leader for the Bridges program at Tremper High School in Kenosha and Heather, a law student at OCU Law School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Dr. Cernak is also delighted to add that she is a grandmother of two adorable grandchildren.
Dr. Desiree (Nardini) Scholl
Dr Desiree Scholl and her family are happy to be returning to the area, after spending the past 3 years in Michigan. She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Stout, where she studied Applied
Science, and gained experience in athletic training before completing her podiatric medical education at Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine. While at Providence Hospital in Southfield, Michigan, she had extensive training in a wide variety of foot and ankle conditions with emphasis on limb-salvage, pediatrics, and reconstructive procedures. She has collaborated with colleagues to publish papers while in her residency training. Dr Scholl is married to Dr. Alex Scholl, with a young daughter Eva and 2 retired-racing greyhounds. She enjoys spending time with family outdoors, attending sporting events, and is looking forward to re-connecting with Greyhounds Only Adoption and Rescue. She has also recently completed 2 half-marathons, and hopes to continue this!
Having participated in competitive soccer throughout childhood and college, Dr Scholl understands the goals and demands of high-performance athletes first-hand. While in Michigan, she was on the medical staff for the Motor City Chiefs junior hockey. She plans to give back to the community and profession through teaching as opportunities present. Dr Scholl believes that for any treatment, whether surgical or conservative, to be successful – there must be a team effort, with communication and trust between patient and all-involved physicians.
Dr. Alex Scholl

Dr. Alex Scholl and his family have returned to this area after spending 3 years in Michigan. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University where he studied Bio-Medical Sciences and also received a Business Minor. He got his Podiatric Medical Education and graduated Cum Laude at Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine. He did his residency at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan where he trained for 3 years in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. He is married to Dr. Desiree Scholl and has a adorable daughter, Eva and 2-retired-racing greyhounds from this area. His hobbies are soccer, active runner and mountain biking. He's done extensive research on Smart Toe Implants and specializes in arthoroscopy, flat foot reconstruction, and trauma.
Dr. Debra Young
Dr. Debra Young has over 25 years of experience in podiatric medicine. She is a board certified foot and ankle surgeon. She is trained in providing her patients with both time proven and modern techniques. She is married and has three grown children.
Dr. Bryan Pereira
Bryan M. Pereira, M.D. specializes in Neurosurgery and Spinal surgery.
His training includes Certification in Neurosurgery from India and Board Eligibility from the American Board of Neurological Surgery.
In addition, it also includes a Spine Fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, and a Neurosurgery Fellowship with Frederick A. Simeone, M.D. in Philadelphia.
